Peripheral Artery Diseases Treatments in Illinois
Living with peripheral artery disease can mean dealing with pain in your legs, open sores that won’t heal, and toenails that don’t grow as they should. Also called PAD, this condition is caused by plaque building up in the arteries that lead to your lower limbs. Once you start experiencing symptoms of PAD, it’s likely that the disease is moderately advanced. It’s important to act as soon as you notice any symptoms of PAD to keep the condition from progressing further.
The Illinois vascular doctors at USA Vascular Centers offer accurate diagnoses of PAD using ankle-brachial index (ABI) tests and angiograms. ABI tests measure and compare the blood pressure in your arm and ankle. The resulting number can tell your Illinois PAD specialist whether or not you have a blockage in your peripheral arteries. During an angiogram, one of our vascular doctors in Illinois will use X-ray imaging and contrast dye to pinpoint the location of a blockage.
Once you receive a PAD diagnosis, our skilled vascular doctors in Illinois will create a personalized PAD treatment plan for you.
Minimally Invasive PAD Treatments in Illinois
The highly recommended doctors at our vascular centers in Illinois offer three non-surgical PAD treatment procedures: atherectomy, angioplasty, and stent placement. These leading-edge PAD treatments in Illinois utilize advanced catheterization techniques to open clogged arteries. With an atherectomy, our vascular doctors in Illinois use a laser or tiny blade to remove the plaque from your vascular system safely. In an angioplasty, a balloon-tipped catheter is used to compress the plaque against the artery walls. Angioplasty is often followed by stent placement, the insertion of a mesh stent to keep the passageway open.
These minimally invasive Illinois PAD treatments mean that you don’t have to stay overnight in a hospital or receive stitches to treat PAD. Our Illinois vascular doctors will have you in and out of our state-of-the-art treatment centers on the same day. Each of our Illinois vascular centers is accredited by the leading outpatient accreditation body, the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), so you can rest assured that you’re receiving the highest standard of care.

Very good experience. Caring, friendly, professional. Very clean, tidy, and organized office and patient procedure rooms. Very attentive to correct scheduled procedure (left or right leg) and attentive they have the correct patient (patient attestation at every procedure). Attentive as well to being certain the procedure is covered by your health care provider. There was a man waiting once while I was there for the office staff to be absolutely sure his procedure was covered by his healthcare provider, they were initially unable to verify and so he had to wait for that to be done before they would proceed with his appointment. I noticed this and truly appreciated – as if it were me, I would not want to proceed until they were absolutely certain of the coverage by my healthcare provider. Very often other healthcare providers aren’t sure, can’t give you any information, tell you to call your healthcare provider yourself.
